It is the largest mountainous wetland in Japan, spanning the three prefectures of Fukushima, Gunma, and Niigata. With Hiuchidake and Mt. Shibutsu, two of Japan's 100 most famous mountains, it is a very popular spot for mountain climbing and trekking to enjoy the rich natural beauty of Oze.

At 2,133 meters above sea level, it is one of Japan's 100 most famous mountains, with a spectacular view of the summit marshland. A popular two-day and one-night course is to traverse the main route from the Takizawa trailhead to the Koma-no-Hoya and then traverse the Aizu-Komagatake and Nakamon-dake peaks.

This rural stage is located in Omomo village in Minamiaizu Town and is designated as a National Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property. Folk performing arts such as Tajima Gion Matsuri Yatai Kabuki were performed on it as “Omomo no Yume Butai.”

Hinoemata Kabuki is said to have originated in the Edo period (1603-1867), when villagers learned and practiced Kabuki they had seen and heard in Edo (present-day Tokyo). It is performed three times a year on the Hinoki Stage, a nationally designated Important Tangible Folk Cultural Property.

It is the oldest ginkgo tree in Fukushima Prefecture, estimated to be about 800 years old. It is more than 30 meters tall, with a trunk circumference of 11 meters, and the sight of its yellow autumn leaves is breathtaking.

A 12-hectare buckwheat field stretches across the Takatsue district. Every year from late August to early September, the field is covered with pure white buckwheat flowers as far as the eye can see. The soba fields are also illuminated when the flowers are at their best.

Nansenji is a Jodo Shinshu temple. The thatched-roof bell tower gate was built in 1794 by the farmers of the Mikurashiri area with donations. The temple is also famous for the magnificent weeping cherry tree, estimated to be 120 years old.

This 7-hectare park has a 6-km-long, 11-course walking trail. The park is called “Himesayuri in the Sky” because 1 million “Himesayuri” grow wild in the park. The best time to visit is from mid-June to early July.

This roadside station is located along Route 289 in the Nango district of Minamiaizu Town. Visitors can enjoy ramen noodles and soft-serve ice cream made from Nango tomatoes, a local specialty. There are also day-trip hot spring facilities and an RV park. This is a facility of our group.
